The ‘Split The Dubs’ sweatshirt takes inspiration from the iconic ‘Yankees Suck’ t-shirt, which galvanised Boston Red Sox fans further against their rivals, The New York Yankees.

The ‘Yankees Suck’ t-shirt was forged in Boston's hardcore and punk scenes in the late ‘90s. The t-shirt looked to voice the Red Sox fans' frustration at constantly being beat by the Yankees. This sentiment raged in Boston for several years and was instigated by some of Boston’s “hardcore kids”. The same sentiment has inspired the ‘Split The Dubs’ sweatshirt and a footballing generation in Ireland.
